Visitor centres page now online

 

If you go to the ALPARC website at www.alparc.org, you will see that The protected areas section now includes a dedicated page entitled Visitor centres in the Alpine Protected Areas , which does exactly what it says on the tin. The page is currently available in English and gives an overview of the many different visitor centres to be found in the Alps in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Slovenia and Switzerland. (...)

Ibex return to Chartreuse (France)

 

Having been absent from the Chartreuse area for many years, the ibex will now be returning to the mountain range. The Chartreuse Natural Regional Park is committed to maintaining biodiversity and has been selected as a reintroduction area. The ibex is talented rock climber, skilled at moving on the steep rocky slopes and lofty plateaux. We are confident that the animals will feel very much at home in the Chartreuse. (...)

Be part of the Rencontres de l'image de montagne festival

The Ecrins National Park will be hosting the third Rencontres de l'image de montagne festival in Bourg d'Oisans, France, on 17 and 18 September 2010. The festival includes a programme of free public screenings plus a range of workshops looking at nature photography techniques. The event is unique because of its chosen medium: this is no screening of films or slide shows, but instead is dedicated to multimedia presentations... (...)
