We are pleased to announce TOGETHER for the ALPS, the first edition of the ALPARC Summer Event, taking place from 15 to 19 September 2026 in Matrei in Osttirol (Austria) and hosted by the National Park Hohe Tauern Tirol.
This new event is designed for professionals from protected areas across the Alps and other partner organizations to share experiences, discuss current challenges, and explore future perspectives. It will provide a space for dialogue and cooperation among colleagues working in nature protection, environmental education, regional development, tourism and visitor management, as well as specialists working on emerging topics such as the conservation of new ice-free ecosystems.
TOGETHER for the ALPS gathers at one place and time several key meetings of the Alpine Network of Protected Areas, allowing participants to benefit from an extensive exchange and to create synergies with colleagues from all Alpine countries, while reducing travel efforts and impacts.
Last but not least, the event also offers a special opportunity to celebrate 30 years of cooperation between protected areas and of Alpine friendship!
Highlights of the programme include:
-
a Fair of Ideas where Alpine protected areas can showcase their most inspiring actions
-
three different thematic excursions in the National Park Hohe Tauern
-
a seminar dedicated to the conservation of post-glacial ecosystems, as part of the AfterAlpineIce project kick-off (Interreg Alpine Space)
-
the annual meetings of the ALPARC Working Groups
-
an Alpine buffet and many more social moments!
Further information and the programme will be available soon.

The event is organised by ALPARC and hosted by the National Park Hohe Tauern Tirol.
