A new ViViAlp station (Virtual Visit of the Alps) has been installed in the Gran Paradiso National Park in Italy. The inauguration of this new equipment took place in the visitors’ centre of Cogne on Monday, 10th August 2009. About 200 visitors accepted the invitation in order to be among the first to test this interactive communication tool, which presents information on parks and natural reserves of the entire alpine arc in a 3D simulation of the Alps.

Thanks to the project Alpencom of the programme Interreg IIIB Alpine Space, which was funded by the European Union in favour of the Network of Alpine Protected Areas, the Gran Paradiso National Park and the Mont Avic Nature Park benefit from now on as project partners from the implementation of two ViViAlp stations – one in the visitors’ centre "TutelAttiva Laboratorio Parco" in Cogne, the other one in the visitors’ centre of Covarey. Two further stations will soon be activated in the Regional Museum of Natural Sciences in Turin and in the fortress of Bard. |
