In relation to the theme of the international conference « Wilderness and biodiversity: can we leave the natural world to its own devices? » (Zernez, 22/10/2010), Alparc’s latest publication is a collection of some of the talks given at the conference as well as scientific articles and conversations with managers of Alpine protected areas. This booklet, published in English, aims to give a partial answer to a certain number of questions: how can Alpine diversity be managed in view of new changes (climate, etc,) and with a limited budget? Does nature always have to be managed? If so, how can we ensure the effectiveness of this management? What should its priorities be? |
