4th International Symposion for Research in Protected Areas

Date :
01/07/2009
Keywords :
Research

You are kindly invited to participate to the Fourth Symposion of the Hohe Tauern National Park for Research in Protected Areas from 17th to 19th September 2009 presenting current research activities in protected areas.

Up to 200 scientists and conservationists each from seven different countries used the opportunity in 2005 to exchange valuable information, new ideas as well as common interests, reaching far beyond the boundaries of protected areas, countries and subjects.
Encouraged by the great success and positive feedback we are pleased to offer you again a congenial setting for presenting and discussing a variety of current research issues in protected areas.

The Concept

The Hohe Tauern National Park organises this event in close cooperation with ALPARC, ISCAR and IGF .

The scientific board of the symposion is especially planning thematic sessions on the following topics of specific interest:

  • History of protected areas in the context of nature conservation
  • Longterm Monitoring Activites in protected areas
  • Climate change and landscape change: is there evidence?
  • Transdisiplinary scientific projects in protected areas
