The December 2010 issue of «eco.mont - Journal on Protected Mountain Areas Research & Management» was recently completed and has been available since early December, online from the Austrian Academy of Sciences press and in a printed version from «Innsbruck University Press».

eco.mont 2/2 continues 2010’s focus on biodiversity, e.g. in papers on the impact of global change on species diversity in mountain areas; on the habitat requirements of Alpine land snail species in the north-eastern Limestone Alps; or on endemic spider and harvestman species in the Austrian Gesäuse NP.
In each issue we present one protected area as a Case in Point, this time Mercantour NP at the border of France and Italy.
