An abstract has been published detailing a scientific evaluation of the potential for exotic plants to become established mountain areas. The scientists cite examples of existing invasive species and set out the factors which increase the risk of invasion by exotics in the European Alps. The authors argue that preventative measures should be implemented immediately, so as to avoid the cost of dealing with invasive species further down the line.
