Alpine-Carpathian exchange on ecological networks - Implementing the MoC

A 2 day exchange on the subject of ecological connectivity between the Carpathians and the Alps will take place in Mikulov (CZ) at the end of September.

This meeting that is organised in the frame of the “Memorandum of Cooperation” signed between the CBD, the Alpine Convention and the Carpathian Convention in 2008 will be the opportunity to exchange on ecological network activities taking place in the two mountain ranges.

Presentations about the role of the CBD, the new European concept of green infrastructure as well as best practice examples from the field are scheduled, furthermore a trip along the Alps-Carpathian Corridor and to a protected area nearby facing its own specific fragmentation problems are foreseen.

The aim of the meeting is to foster cooperation on this topic between the two mountain regions by developing common future project ideas.

The 6th Meeting of the Platform Ecological Network of the Alpine Convention will take place in the frame of this event the 21st September.
