22/09/2010 - News from the protected areas UNESCO announces selection of 13 new Biosphere Reserves
Paris, 2 June – The International Coordinating Council of UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Programme has added 13 new sites and 7 extensions in 15 different countries to the World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR), which now numbers 564 sites in 109 countries.

Established in 2008, the Nagelfluhkette Nature Park brings together communities in the southern Allgäu and the Vorderer Bregenzerwald. It is the first nature park to span the border between Germany and Austria. |
15/09/2010 - News from the network ALPARC “The Wall”: a concrete example for all
This event, organised by the partners of the Ecological Continuum Initiative, consists in putting up a factitious wall in 6 big alpine cities: Zürich for Switzerland, Milan for Italy, Münich for Germany, Ljubljana for Slovenia, Lyon for France and Vienna for Austria, on the 20th of October 2010.
