General assembly of protected areas managers

The General Assembly brings together representatives from all of the Alpine protected areas. All key decisions and the choice of subjects for cooperation are submitted to the Assembly every two years. The General Assembly is usually held in tandem with a thematic conference.

The General Assembly is the largest meeting of protected area managers in the Alps and epitomises the cooperation between national, regional and natural parks, natural and biosphere reserves and various other types of protected area.

The General Assembly elects the International Steering Committee , which is the representative body of the protected areas within ALPARC and is made up of directors of protected areas.
