For the 25th time bearded vultures could be released in the Alps this year. A nice jubilee which becomes even more convincing by the results of an international cooperation for the monitoring of the species. Under the Umbrella of ALPARC and the Vulture Conservation Foundation (VCF) numerous collaborators from Alpine protected areas and other institutions form the "International Bearded vulture Monitoring (IBM).

To mark World Environment Day on 5 June 2009, releases were made in two Alpine parks: one at Mallnitz in the Hohe Tauern National Park (Austria) and the other at Vignols in the Mercantour National Park (France), the latter attended by Prince Albert II of Monaco.

In October 2011 comes out the film “Some bearded vultures and some men”, directed by Mathieu Le Lay, which leads us to the discovery of the great adventure of the bearded vulture’s reintroduction plan, an excellent outcome.

Between June and July three previews have been projected, but soon the film will be broadcasted on channel Montagne TV.

On a sunny Saturday, 22nd August 2009 the bird of prey week was officially opened in the Dobratsch Nature Park. More than 50 enthousiasts of nature and birds were welcomed by IP speaker mayor Johann Müller and Dr. Remo Probst of Bird Life Carinthia at the birds of prey camp in Oberstossau bei Arnoldstein (community Hohenthurn).
