Glossary

Designed as a translation tool, the glossary is available in five languages. The glossary is not intended to be exhaustive. Instead it focuses on terms that are often found in our publications, concepts that are tricky to translate, acronyms, technical and official terms, and the names of species (including the Latin name) and habitats (CORINE code).

We intend to keep expanding the glossary. All suggestions and corrections are welcome. Please e-mail info@alparc.org

How to use the glossary?

  • Search: enter a word or the first few letters (in English or in Latin, if you are searching for wildlife) in the search field. If you are searching for a habitat, you can also enter the CORINE code
  • Thematic search: select a theme from the drop-down list, then one of the sub-headings.
  • Sort: sorts your search results by language. select a language from the drop-down list. The default is alphabetical order based on the French entries.
  • Search in another language: go to the relevant language interface by clicking on the language bar below.
