The Alps are the living and working environment of around 13 million people and this population is increasing at a faster rate than the population of Europe. They are also well-known for being an important tourist destination in Europe. Sensitive Alpine natural sites are directly affected by the negative consequences of such popularity.
This critical situation has led to various promising initiatives within the ALPARC Network.
