Since the beginning of the year 2000, the GWS works on the following topic “to reconsider the parks and the protected areas for the 21st century”: projects, experiments and proposals are discussed during a great conference organized in the United States every two years.

The Conference of 2011 will be held the 14 to18 March in New Orleans in Louisiana, pilot place of the implication of the agents of the parks towards nature and the affected populations by the calamities in particular by the Katrina hurricane and the recent ecological catastrophe caused by the explosion of an oil well near the coasts of Louisiana and of these extraordinary protected natural environments.
