Do you want to learn and exchange on new ideas and approaches that can help solving specific problems occurring in those regions?

Then, you should not miss the 7th European Mountain Convention, Euromontana and the Norwegian Mountain Regions Cooperation is organising in Lillehammer, Norway, on 15-17 September 2010. Euromontana is the European Association of Mountain Areas. It comprises over 70 member organisations from throughout greater Europe including environmental and development agencies, regional authorities, farming organisations and technical institutes, all with an interest in the sustainable development of mountain areas.

We would be honoured to have you with us during this event. In addition to the members of Euromontana the whole European mountain community will be involved, including national and regional authorities, sectoral organisations, research bodies, think tanks and universities. Previous Conventions have attracted up to 400 professionals and stakeholders from all across Europe. This year, the Programme Manager of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Entrepreneurship Center in the USA, the Director of the European Environment Agency together with many other exceptional speakers have already confirmed their participation and we will be happy to welcome you as well.

The transversal theme that will be focused upon during this year’s Convention will be “Innovation”. Entitled “European Mountain Regions – A spirit of Innovation”, our conference will examine the process of innovation and tools needed in order to innovate. Furthermore, we will place the focal point on sectors in which mountain areas can achieve an added value. Best practices will be discussed and presented in a booklet that will be distributed to conference participants. A statement presenting the position of European mountain stakeholders on innovation issues will be released during this event.

If you are interested in participating in, please note that you will have to register to the conference before the 15th of August. Only a limited number of rooms is available at negotiated prices and first come will be the first served! Please visit the conference’s webpage for more details regarding the registration and venue of the conference or write us an email to conference@euromontana.org if you have any questions.
