From 7 to 9 March 2011 will be held at Brdo pri Kranju the XI Alpine Conference and the I Dinaric Conference under the common heading of «Alps as development potential of Europe – a common future».

This joint event provides a unique opportunity to exchange views on the development potential of mountain regions and their importance for the broader European area, reach conclusions concerning the future of the Alpine Convention and view the results achieved during implementation of the Alpine Convention as a model of cooperation among countries and regions in mountain areas.

Ministers from the Alpine region and the Dinaric Arc will be given the opportunity to meet to discuss, for the first time, the importance of common regional policies and development strategies in mountain regions. By signing a joint statement, ministers from the Dinaric Arc will express political willingness to cooperate and forge links in the Dinaric Mountains and the neighbouring regions.
