The ClimaParks project is composed of nine partners: four Slovenian and five Italian parks. The Lead Partner of the project is the Triglav National Park.

Project activities undertaken by the Slovenian and Italian parks will be aimed at research and raising public awareness of climate change, conservation of biodiversity, and sustainable attitude towards the environment in these protected areas and on a global scale.

In the course of the project, a permanent network of workstations will be set up to facilitate comparison of data among the parks. Through co-operation, the Slovenian and Italian parks will enhance awareness of the importance of a responsible attitude towards the natural environment (information centres, training programs). The parks will carry out pilot projects aimed at exploring and developing environmentally-friendly ways of protected area visitation.

The joint project of Slovenia and Italy involves the Primorska (North-Adriatic), Karst, and mountain (Alpine) regions.

On Thursday, 24 November 2011, the first conference of the ClimaParks Project titled "Protected Areas Facing Climate Change" will be held in the Municipal Council Hall in Venzone, Italy.

The partner will present their activities carried out within the framework of the CLIMAPRKS Project as well as the results of monitoring performed in the protected areas.
