Conference "Common strenght: approaches for an efficient co-operation among protected areas"

The conference would like to focus on already existing approaches and practices for the organizational interconnections among protected areas in Austria and present some additional examples from abroad, in order to point out which advantages could be taken in consideration for the interconnection of protected areas and how protected area assistants could take advantage of it. Moreover, financing instruments for the interconnecting work are shown and during open discussion are developed plans on how an interconnection and the use of synergies could be improved for the protected area assistants.
The conference takes place in cooperation with the course "Management of Protected Areas" of the University of Klagenfurt.
Aims:
- Interconnection of protected area assistants
- Information and exchange of different approaches and methods, which could improve the interconnection between the protected areas
- Capacity building - experiences from Europe and exchange with nature conservationists from other European countries
- Presentation of incentive procedures for the cooperation among protected area assistants
- Common development of a promotion plan of synergies among the protected areas, within an Open Space Workshop
