Zernez is the gate of the Swiss national Park and is located in the Engadine in south-east Swizerland. For further informations visit the following websites : www.nationalpark.ch and www.zernez.ch
The event is intended primarily for GIS users and GIS managers of national parks, natural and biosphere reserves. It aims to provide an opportunity to discuss the status of work on the GIS and learn about its applications in other protected areas.
The following topics will be approached through presentation and discussion in conjunction with the protected areas :development of GIS applications on the Internet, mobile GIS, GIS in real-time, metadata, analysis of data, data visualization, monitoring and updating of data ; European initiatives such as INSPIRE. All participants are invited to get involved.

Organisation :
Travel, accommodation and meals are borne by the participants. There are no other fees. The event will be simultaneously translated into three languages Alpine (d, f, i) and English. These translation costs are borne by the organizers.
