Alpine protected areas. Together for the Alps AlpConv

Coordination unit

The ALPARC network is animated and managed since 1995 by a coordination unit located in France. The team was first attached to Les Ecrins National Park, and since 2006, is attached to the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention with the name of “Task Force Protected Areas”.

The multilingual team comprises 5 permanent staff members and further collaborators.
The coordination unit – the Task Force Protected Areas of the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention - manages the implementation of joint projects involving protected areas, organises conferences, symposiums, workshops and meetings, and produces publications, translations and exhibitions for ALPARC in conjunction with other partners.

It also arranges the meetings of the International Steering Committee and organises the General Assembly every two years in collaboration with a partner park.
