The Task Force Protected Areas, attached to the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention, efficiently pursues its concerted actions with the professionals of the alpine network and the large public in order to implement the article 12 of the protocol "Nature conservation and landscape management" of the Alpine Convention. To reach these aims, the coordination team is again complete with three additional colleagues in its office in Chambéry / France.

Elena Maselli, specialist in environmental education, joined the team in July 2009 and coordinates certain projects of Alparc (events, animation of working groups, project management, etc.). She contributes in particular to the organisation of the International Conference "Ecological Network in the Alps – a response to climate change that will conserve biodiversity?", which will take place in Berchtesgaden / Germany from 15th to 16th October 2009.

Since August 2009, Delphine Maurice has been taking charge of the management of the European ETC Alpine Space project called "Econnect", which aims at preserving, restoring or recreating the ecological connectivity in the alpine arc. She has already gained experience within the framework of an international agreement in the field of environmental protection.

Yann Kohler, who has already worked on the issue of ecological networks in the past, takes again part in the team of the Task Force. Since July 2009, he has been assisting Marie-Odile Guth from the French Ministry of Environment in the coordination of activities due to the French presidency of the platform "Ecological Network" of the Alpine Convention.
