The alpine ecological network will have to play an important role in the years to come. The global warming of the planet entails important changes for species and habitats with a real risk of biodiversity loss. The conference "Ecological network in the Alps – a response to climate change that will conserve biodiversity?", which will take place in Berchtesgaden / Germany on the 15th and 16th October 2009, aims for identifying the link between the global warming of the planet and the loss of biodiversity. Within the next decades, Central Europe and especially the Alpine space will indeed have to take into account enormous changes of the composition of species and habitats in their latitudes. |
